You Brighten My Day

 Hi crafting friends,

I hope everyone had a great weekend.

I decided to try and play along at Freshly Made Sketches this week in the hope that Jen M's versatile sketch would help me get my mojo back!  I'm not sure where my mojo has gone, but I would like it to return please!!

For my card I thought I would just dip my hand into my stamp box and make a card with the first stamp set I pulled out!  Luckily for me it was Lighter than Air by The Alley Way Stamps, an uninked stamp set - perfect.  The light bulb jumped out at me and I just went with it.  here is what I came up with.

Supplies:
The Alley Way Stamps - More than Words
The Alley Way Stamps - Lighter than Air
KH Designs Digital Paper - Mid Diagonal Black
Memento Ink - Tuxedo Black
Tim Holtz - Spritzer Tool
Doodlebug Designs Sprinkles - Bumblebee
Doodlebug Design Sprinkles - Beetle Black
Zig Wink of Stella - Clear Glitter Pen

In the Woods

Hi everyone,

I'm late, late for an important date!! Apologies for the lateness of my Winter Wonderland post. Things have been hectic recently, the days are flying by and I totally lost track of time.  If only there were more hours in the day and days in the week....non-working days that is!

Anyway, onto the challenge.  This week we are looking for Christmas projects with more than one fold.  I've got to say I have never made a card with more than one fold, so it was quite exciting for me.  I had a little play around with some paper trying out different folds until I came up with the one for my card.

I knew I was wanting to use Lawn Fawn Joy in the Woods Stamp set.  I've had this set for ages but this was the first time I've inked it up!  I love all the little critters and extras with this set and had great fun putting this scene together.

Supplies:
Lawn Fawn Clear Stamps - Joy to the Woods
Lawn Fawn Dies - Joy to the Woods
lawn Fawn Dies - Stitched Hillside Borders
American Crafts Cardstock - Pacific
Memento Ink - Tuxedo Black
Tsukineko Versamark - Watermark
Signo Pigment White Pen
Simon Says Stamp Embossing Powder - Ultra Fine Gold
Ranger Liquid Pearls - Ruby Red
Ranger Stickles - Icicle

We are sponsored by Di's Digi Stamps who are offering a $12 voucher to the lucky winner.  I hope you can play along.

Out of this World

Hi Crafting Friends,

It's my final post over at Whimsie Doodles before we have our summer (or in my case, winter!) break and as promised I am sharing another card made with the Space Cadet Collection. I could not resist using this alien - he is soo cute. Believe it or not I actually made this card for my husbands birthday...he's a kid at heart!

I made the background scene with my spritzer tool and copics. I love how it came out, the colours are so vibrant.  I added some copic white paint and tiny silver stars to complete the night sky look.  I coloured the alien with my copics and added glossy accents to his big eyes and fuzzy cut him out. I created the small birthday banner on my computer and glued it underneath his arms.  I hope you like it.

Supplies:
Whimsie Doodles Digital Stamps - Space Cadets
Lil' Inker Designs - Stitched Circles
Simon Says Stamp Dies - Falling Stars
Merci - Silver Glitter Sheets
Copic Paint - Opaque White
Tim Holtz -Spritzer Tool

Jelly Fishes

Hi Crafting Friends,

Sorry I haven't been about much recently, my mojo has taken a holiday and I haven't been able to put a card together all week :(  To try and get my mojo back I thought I would play with my Create A Smile Sending Sunshine kit.

I got out the copics and had some fun colouring these super cute jelly fish.  I love their cute wee faces.  Once coloured I covered them in some wink of stella and fuzzy cut them out. I managed to pull together this simple card. The sea was created with distress inks and I used both the bubbles stamp from the kit and some spots from Eggstraordinary Egghunt to give the water some movement. The side panels were cut out using MFT snow drift dies.  I thought the panels looked a bit plain so decided to add some white embossed circles/bubbles for more detail and texture.  The sentiment was typed on my computer. I had originally thought of: sending you best wishes...which then became jelly wishes....which finally ended up as jelly fishes!!  I added a couple of the cute enamel accents to either end of the sentiment.

I hope you like it.

Supplies:
Create a Smile Stamps - Sending Sunshine Kit
Create a Smile Stamps -  Eggstraordinary Egghunt
Simon Says Stamp - Lots of Dots Clear Stamp Set
MFT  Die-namics - Snowdrifts
Memento Ink - Tuxedo Black
Tsukineko Versamark - Watermark Stamp
Stampendous Embossing Powder - White
Distress Ink - Broken China
Distress Ink - Tumbled Glass
Zig Wink of Stella - Clear Glitter Pen

I would also like to link up with MFT Summer school on there lesson on movement and flow.

Swimming by to say Hi

I hope everyone had a good weekend.  Can you believe that it is the 15th of the month and we are half way through June already!!  Wow!!  The 15th also means it's monthly challenge time over at Whimsie Doodles.  Our theme for June is summer fun, I hope you can join along.

For my card I used Starfish Mermaid digi, I love this image and have been wanting to colour her up for ages, so was glad to finally get the chance.  I paired her up with one of the awesome Beach Borders

Santa's Coming!

Happy Friday Crafting Friends,

I hope everyone has had a good week.  Sorry I haven't been around this week, my crafting mojo left the building last weekend and I just haven't been able to put a card together - here's hoping I can get it back soon!

Anyway today is the start of a new challenge over at Winter Wonderland.  The theme this week is Santa Claus is Coming to Town! Our sponsor is offering three digis to the lucky winner.

Fortunately I own quite a few Santa stamps and had a hard time deciding which one to choose for my card today!  In the end I went with this jolly Santa from Kenny K and created a very simple, layered card.

Special Dad

Hi crafting friends,

It's Friday again and a long weekend here is Sydney - whoopie ! It's also new release time over at Whimsie Doodles.  This month Melyssa has created three really fun images which are perfect for male-themed cards....and our current monthly Challenge is also male-themed!  If you have the time please pop over and see all the fab creations by the rest of the Divas.

For my card I choose Business Bear, as I totally adore critters, even if they are wearing a tie and holding a briefcase! I coloured him in with copics, paired him with Doodlebug Snips and Snails Paper and added some enamel dots.

For my layout I played along with Sketch Saturday and picked sketch number #255 for my card.

You Colour my World

Hi Friends,

Happy first of June, I can't believe we are half way through the year!

Today I would like to share a card I created  for the Create a Smile Stamps GD call - any excuse to get out my Create a Smile goodies. I adore their products (and own alot of them!) so thought I would try my luck and apply.  Talking of goodies, I finally received my Sending Sunshine kit on Friday - yipee!  I had a little play with the stencil and stamps yesterday but haven't actually made a card with it...yet.  My card today features one of the older sets called Jungle Fever.  The little humming bird was just asking to be coloured in with my brand new polychromo pencils. I picked up the full set of 120 on sale and this is their first outing!

For my card layout I decided to use this awesome sketch by Karren at Freshly Made Sketches.

And here's my card -

Supplies:
Create a Smile Stamps - Jungle Fever
Core'dinations Textured Cardstock - Midnight Black
Simon Says Stamp Cardstock - White Woodgrain
Faber-Castell - Polychromos
Copic Sketch Marker - B21 Sky Blue
Tim Holtz - Spritzer Tool
Memento Ink - Tuxedo Black
Simon Says Stamp Ink - Green Apple
Simon Says Stamp Ink - Green Leaf
Simon Says Stamp Ink - Sunshine
Simon Says Stamp Ink - Doll Pink
Ranger Liquid Pearls - Gold
Zig Wink of Stella - Clear Glitter
Zig Wink of Stella - Gold Glitter

A close up of the gorgeous bird and flowers:
The flowers and the bird were coloured with polychromos, fuzzy cut out and then layered onto the blue background. I created the background by lightly spritzing a piece of card with copic B21.

I really enjoyed using my pencils and am pleased with how the little humming bird turn out since this was my first attempt with my polychromos.  I hope you like the card.
