Autumn Blessings

Hello there,

Today I have an Autumn card to share with you that I made for this weeks Freshly Made sketches. It been about a month since I was last able to play along (where does the time go!) so was pleased I had some time this weekend to craft :)

Supplies:
HOTP - Feathers Stamp Set
Clearly Besotted Stamps - Autumn Blessings
MFT Die-namics - Blueprint 13
MFT Die-namics - Stitched Fishtail Flag Stax
Neenah Cardstock - Desert Storm
Simon Says Stamp Cardstock - White Woodgrain
Double Sided Adhesive Paper
Memento Ink - Rich Cocoa
Simon Says Stamp Ink - Orange Peel, Sunshine, Green Apple, Beanstalk, Green Leaf
MFT Ink - Daffodil
Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Ripe Persimmon, Fired Brick
Burlap, String and Button - From Stash
Zig Wink of  Stella Glitter Pen - Clear
Pretty Pink Posh Sequins - Gold 4mm

I'm not sure why but I got the urge to ink up my unused feather stamp set from HOTP which was a free gift. I know it would have been more appropriate to use leaves but well, I like to be different! I sponged each stamp with three colours before stamping onto white card. I then fuzzy cut them out and give them a light coating with a clear wink of stella pen.

I adhered a piece of burlap to some double sided adhesive paper and then die-cut it out using a fishtail from blueprints 13. I adhered the fishtail to a stitched rectangle of white woodgrain card. I used string a button from my stash to create the border at the top of the card.  I stamped one of the sentiments from Autumn Blessings Stamp set onto to end of a stitched fishtail using Rich Cocoa ink and glued to just under the string on the right hand side of the card.  I then arranged to feathers and adhered them under the button. I mounted this panel to my card base and lastly added some gold sequins for a little extra bling :) I hope you like it.

Flying By

Hi Friends,

I hope everyone is having a great weekend.  Today I would like to share a card I make for Gerda Steiner Designs Progressive Challenge. Her digi's are so cute and such fun to colour in. The image we got to play with this month is called Mouse on a Broom, just look at the face on the spider - hehe, too funny.

Supplies:
Gerda Steiner Designs Digital Stamp - Mouse on Broom
MFT Die-namics - Blueprints 20
Simon Says Stamp Dies - Falling Stars
Simon Says Stamp Dies - Holiday Shapes
Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Broken China, Faded Jeans and Chipped Sapphire
Core'dinations Cardstock - Midnight
Uniball Signo Pen - Pigment White
Ranger Glossy Accents

I coloured the image in with my copics and added some glossy accents to the spider before fuzzy cutting it out. I then cut out a square piece of white card and created the night sky by sponging three colours of distress inks. Believe it or not this is only the second time I have used my distress inks to create a background. With previous cards I have always just used my copics.  It took a couple of attempts before I was satisfied with how it looked, and I'm sure with more practice I'll get better at blending various colours together.  Once it was coloured I used foam pads to attach the image.

I decided that this night scene was going to be full of stars, as opposed to the usual Halloween scene with a big yellow full  moon. I used my dies to cut out stars of various sizes in both silver glitter card and white card.  I also used my white pigment pen to added some more dot stars.  I think I may have gone slightly overboard  :)

As we do not celebrate Halloween here in Oz and I don't ever send Halloween cards I thought I would use a more generic sentiment. I typed out the sentiment and printed it onto white card and used a banner die from blueprints 20 to die cut it out. I foam mounted it in the top right hand corner.

Happy Bee Day

Hello there,

I'm so happy it's Friday as it means the weekend is almost here - yipee.  Today I'm sharing a card I created for my Whimsie Doodles post. This super sweet image is called Bee-atrice.  Her outfit is so cute and fun to colour.

Supplies:
Whimsie Doodles Digital Stamp - Bee-atrice
Simon Says Stamp - Circle Friends Clear Stamp Set
MFT Die-namics Blueprints 15
MFT Mix-able Stencils - Mini Chicken Wire
MFT Die-namics - Stitched Circles Stax
Lil' Inker Designs Dies - Dual Stitched Ovals
American Crafts Amy Tangerine Paper Pad - Stitched
Simple Stories Paper Pad - Snap Color Vibe
Wendy Vecchi - Crackled Texture Paste
Decoart Glamour Dust - Crystal
American Crafts Wow Glitter - Gold and Yellow
Doodlebug Designs Sprinkles - Bumblebee
Uniball Signo Pen - Pigment White
Ranger Glossy Accents

I coloured her with my copics and added some glamour dust to the wings and glossy accents to her antennae. I die-cut a large rectangle using a die from Blueprints 15 and then created a honeycomb background with MFT mini chicken wire stencil and some crackled texture paste.  Before applying the paste I stirred in a little yellow and gold glitter.  It has produced a very subtle effect which twinkles in the light :)  I adhered a piece of yellow Amy Tangerine paper to the bottom half of the card and also added to border of black dotted paper. The semtiment is from SSS circle friends stamp set.

Hello Sunshine

Hi Friends,

It's the weekend - yipee.  I hope you find some time to craft. I  managed to squeeze in some crafting this morning and make a CAS card for the My Favourite Things Card Design Superstar Contest., just making the deadline.  I have bought so many MFT goodies lately and would have loved to enter more cards but I just haven't had enough time to play with them - never mind :)

I stamped this super cute Tucan onto copic friendly paper and coloured him in. I decided I wanted to add more colour to his bill so added an extra section with my copic liner - my hand slipped slightly and well it didn't go to plan - he's unique that's for sure!  I added a dot of black enamel accents to his eye and also added some glossy accents to his bill.

I die-cut a stitched circle and sponged on three different colours of ink to create my sun.  I die-cut some greenery and sponged them with MFT Sour Apple Die Ink. The banner is from Blueprints 20 and I stamped the sentiment on with black ink. I then layered them up and adhered them to some woodgrain cardstock which was die-cut using the large square from Blueprints 12. I adhered the Tucan with some foam pads.  I added some pretty pink posh sequins for some sparkle :)

Supplies:
MFT Stamps - Polynesian Paradise
MFT Die-namics - Blueprints 12
MFT Die-namics - Blueprints 20
MFT Die-namics - Wild Greenery
MFT Die-namics - Stitched Circle Stax

MFT Dye Ink - Daffodil

Christmas Fairy

Hi Friends,

It's time for a new challenge over at Winter Wonderland and our theme this week is Christmas Fairies.  This gave me the perfect opportunity to use a digi stamp I have had for a very, very long time but have never coloured up!!  I have alot of these!  This adorable fairy is called Hey Little Birdie and is available from Funky Kits. If you are looking for some stunning Christmas Fairies be sure to check out their site

Supplies:
Sugar Nellie Digital Stamps - Sugar Nellie Hey Little Birdie
Sweet Shoppe Digital Kits - Zoe Pearn Merry Little Christmas
MFT Die-namics - Inside and Out Stitched Rounded Square Stax
Memento Ink - Desert Sand
Stampendous Frantage - Shabby White Embossing Enamel
Pretty Pink Posh Sequins - 4mm Fresh Mint
Zig Wink of Stella - Clear Glitter Pen
Cream Ribbon - From Stash
Confetti Stars in Gold and White from local store

I coloured her in with my copics and used a rounded stitched die to cut her out.  I melted some shabby white frantage around the image and added some star sequins in white and gold. I also applied wink of stella to her wings for some sparkle but it is always so hard to see in the photo.  I chose two papers from the digital kit and inked the edges with some desert sand ink. I love the papers in this digital kit, and I can't believe I have never used them before even though I bought this kit over a year ago!  I adhered them to my card base and added a piece of ribbon along the join.  I also added some fresh mint sequins as they complemented my paper perfectly.

Our challenge this month is sponsored by Stamp and Create who are offering the winner a $20 voucher.  I hope you can play along.

Hi Friends,

I thought I would enter this card into MFT current challenge to be a card design superstar!  They have some awesome prizes, and I thought I would through my card into the mix.  Hopefully I can get another one done before the deadline.

I coloured the bear, pumpkin and leaves with my copics. I used the complementary dies to cut out the bear and pumpkin but handcut the leaves. I created the background behind the bear with my watercolours.

Best Witches

Hi Friends,

It's Challenge time over at Whimsie Doodles and we have a colour theme this time.  These colours definitely scream out Halloween to me!

For my card I used one of the images from Halloween Mini's. This collection contains 8 fab circular images each measuring 2x2 inches - but being digital you can obviously resize them :)

This best witches image is my favourite.  I coloured it in with my copics and then layered in up with different colours of cardstock.  I kept this card very clean and simple, only adding a few doodlebug sprinkles as embellishments.

 Supplies:
Whimsie Doodles Digital Stamps - Halloween Mini's
Lil' Inker Designs - Dual Stitched Circles
MFT Die-namics - Stitched Cirlce Stax
Spellbinders Nestabilities - Large Scalloped Circles
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder - Tiny Bubbles
Core'dinations Textured Cardstock - Midnight
Doodlebug Design 6x6 Paper Pad - Hip Hip Hooray
Doodlebug Design Sprinkles - Limeade, Tangerine, Beetle Black
Zig Wink of Stella - Clear Glitter Pen

Fairy Magic

Hello Friends,

We are back at Whimsie Doodles after the summer break (or winter in my case!) and are showcasing a couple of super cute new releases. For my card I have used Tooth Fairy Abby, how sweet is she?

I coloured her in with my trusty copics, applied stickles to her wings and star and fuzzy cut her out.  I foam mounted her onto scrap card which I found in my scrap box. It wasn't quite large enough so I created the bottom grass area with my spritzer tool and copics. I mounted this panel onto the debossed side of white cardstock.  I then randomed glued on stars which I had die-cut out of scrap paper.  The gold stars where die-cut from a piece of card that had been previously sponged with golden glitz ink.  The pink stars were die-cut from a watercoloured piece of card.  Don't you love it when you use up scraps :)  I adhered a thin strip of gold ribbon to the top and bottom of the panel and then mounted this onto the card base. I hope you like her.

Supplies:
Whimsie Doodles Digital Stamps - Tooth Fairy Abby
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder - Snowfall
MFT Die-namics - Grassy Edges
Simon Says Stamp Dies - Holiday Shapes
Tsukineko Delicata - Golden Glitz
Ranger Spritzer Tool
 WRMK Crop-A-Dile Corner Chomper
Ranger Stickles - Gold
Ranger Stickles - Star Dust
Ribbon Gold - From Stash
