Hedgehog with Pumpkin

Hi Friends,

Today I would like to share a very clean and simple card I made for this months Progressive Challenge over at Gerda Steiner Designs. I received this super cute digi for free as I played along last month (thanks Gerda) but he is also available over at Gerda's Store.

I've had him coloured up for a couple of weeks and he has been sitting patiently on my desk waiting for me!  However, I had a complete creative block and just couldn't decide what to do with him :( I must have played around for three hours with different card layout and designs and didn't like any of them! In the end I decided just to put him on the card sitting on a little piece of grass to ground him. I used a linen impression plate on the card base to give the background some texture. I think the card works as he is so cute!

Gerda Steiner Designs Digital Stamp - Hedgehog with Pumpkin
Papertrey Ink Impression Plate - Linen
MFT Die-namics - Grassy Fields
WRMK Crop-a-Dile - Round Corner Chomper
Ranger Enamel - Black Accents

Polar Pals

Hi Friends,

Today I would like to share another Christmas card with you.  This one was inspired by the current challenge over at Merry Monday, where the theme is frame it.

Here is my card:
MFT Stamps - Cool Days
MFT Die-namics - In & Out Stitched Rounded Square Stax
MFT Die-namics - Blueprints 20
Memory Box Die - Crystalline Border
Simon Says Stamp Stencil - Falling Snowflakes
Sweet Shoppe Design Digital Kit - Tis the Season - Joy
Memento Ink - Tuxedo Black
Simon Says Stamp Ink - Orange Peel
Wendy Vecchi Embossing Paste - White
Ranger Enamel Accents - White
Ranger Enamel Accents - Black

I couldn't resist using these adorable polar bears from MFT Birdie Brown - I love them and, I thought they were a perfect duo to frame!  I stamped the smaller bear first, masked him and then stamped the larger bear. I love all the rich autumnal colours around and thought it would be fun to use a non-traditional colour combo on this card, with deep orange being the main colour. I coloured these handsome chaps in with my copics and added black enamel to their noses and white enamel to the pom poms on their hats. I then fuzzy cut them out.

I created the frame using MFT stitched rounded sqaure stax. From my scrap stash a found a piece of  blue snowflake paper which I though would be perfect for the background. I used a double layer of foam tape to mount the frame onto the backing paper. Firstly though I cut the legs off the bears and slipped them in and then popped foam dots behind their heads. Once in place I added some tiny enamel dots to the centre of each snowflake. I also adhered some small snowflakes from crystalline border.

This picture below gives a better indication of the depth and dimension.

I created a snowy background using white embossing paste and snowflake stencil. I cut this slightly smaller than the card base and mounted in on with some foam tape. I had a random strip of green copic coloured card which I decided to attached to my background before mounting the frame on top. The sentiment was stamped in SSS orange peel ink and I used a fishtail from blueprints 20 to die cut it out.

Gnome There

Hi Friends,

Yipee it's Friday tomorrow, this week has gone by so fast! I have no exciting plans this weekend so am hoping to get some colouring done :)  Don't I live life in the fast lane ;)

Anyway today I am sharing the card I made for my Whimsie Doodles DT post. I based my layout the fab sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.

And here is my take on it!

Whimsie Doodles Digital Stamp - Gnome Fence
Hero Arts Clear Stamps - Thinking of You Messages
MFT Die-namics - Stitched Arch Stax
MFT Die-namics - Blueprints 20
Memory Box Dies - Fluffy Clouds
Memento Ink - Tuxedo Black
Sizzix Embossing Folder - Brick Wall
Core'dinations Textured Cardstock - Midnight
Wooden Ladybug - from stash

This darling digital stamp is called Gnome Fence and can be found here.I printed the image onto some copic friendly paper and coloured the scene with my copics.  I decided to frame this little scene with my newly purchased arch dies, which I love. I cut an arch in the card base before embossing. I then used two dies to create the black frame which I adhered to the card front. I glued a couple of small die-cut clouds to my scene before attaching it behind the arch.

I die-cut a banner from blueprints 20 and stamped the sentiment in black ink.  I then glued this to the front of the card. Finally I added a cute wooden ladybug which I think I picked up in the dollar store.

Smiley Santa

Hi Friends,

I would like to share a Christmas card with you which was inspired by Tag You're It Challenge.  In my usual style I am linking up at the last minute! This seems to becoming a habit, a bad one at that! I blame the fact that it takes my absolutely ages to make a card as I am constantly chopping and changing my mind.  Anyway here is the inspiration tag. That Santa is hilarious :)

Here is what I came up with:

Gerda Steiner Designs Clear Stamps - Holiday Friends
Lil' Inker Designs - Anytime Tags
MFT Die-namics - Blueprints 15
Lawn Fawn Dies - Stitched Hillside Borders
Simon Says Stamp Dies - Stitched Squares
Simon Says Stamp Dies - Holiday Shapes
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder - Snowfall -Discontinued
Memory Box Stencil - Tiny Snowflakes
Wendy Vecchi Embossing Paste - White
Neenah Cardstock - Desert Storm
Zig Wink of Stella Pen - Clear
Zig Wink of Stella Pen - Gold
Harris Tweed Fabric - Red
Tim Holtz String - Red

I was inspired to use my recently purchased Santa stamp from Gerda Steiner Designs Holiday Friends Stamp set.  I coloured him with my copics and fuzzy cut him out. I added wink of stella to the trim on his outfit.

I die cut a tag out of desert storm cardstock and used my tiny snowflakes stencil and white embossing paste to create a snowy scene. I then die-cut a snowy base for santa and glued it on. I used foam pads to mount Santa onto the tag.  I added a die-cut star coloured with gold wink of stella to the top right hand corner.  I then threaded some red string through the tag.

I used desert storm cardstock to create my base and then used the large stitched rectangle from blueprints 15 to cut out a panel of white card. I used one of my favourite winter embossing folders using the debossed side for my card. I attached this rectangle to my card base.  I felt my card needed something else and played around for a while until I found a small piece of harris tweed that had previously been the inside of a coaster.  I used a stitched square to die-cut a piece. I then glued this onto my cardbase and mounted the tag on top using some foam tape and glossy accents.  Finally I added some gold wink of stella to some of the small debossed snowflakes.

Moosy Greetings

Hi Friends,

I am quickly popping in to share the card I make for this weeks Merry Monday Challenge before the linky closes!  Last minute as usual for me!

For my layout I used the sketch from Happy Little Stampers.

I have had the moose coloured up for a couple of days but haven't had the time to put the card together until tonight. The photo is as good as I would like but it is night time and the card has both acetate and embossing so alot of reflection going on. I will try and take a better photo tomorrow after I finish work.

Hey There Mr Squirrel

I am so glad the weekend is finally here, here is hoping I can squeeze in some crafting since I don't have too much planned.  Anyway today I would like to share a card with you that I have been working on all week!  I finally managed to finish it last night.

When I saw the current challenge at Cupcake Inspirations was forest friends I really wanted to play along. It was also a great excuse for me to use my recently purchased Gerda Steiner Designs Happy Fall Clearstamp Set which features a super cute squirrel. I was also inspired by rich autumn/fall colours. Thankfully I managed to finish my card just before the linky closed - phew!

I created the little scene by using three different stamps from the set. I then coloured in the scene with my copics and added some black enamel accents to the squirrels nose. I used a stitched rounded rectangle to cut it out.

When I started this card I had no layout in mind and kept on chopping and changing my mind.  I have a new found love for burlap so decided to use it once again on this card. I thought it would be great to pair up the natural burlap with a burlap embossing folder for lots of texture. After playing about with layouts I finally attached the natural burlap with a double sided adhesive sheet to my embossed cardstock and then decided I didn't like it.  Out came my largest stitched square die and thus my card ended up being around 4x4 inches! I ended up keeping the rest of the design simple as my creativity left me. I only added a strip of DP and my sentiment to finish.

Gerda Steiner Designs - Happy Fall Clear Stamp Set
Simon Says Stamp - Talk Bubbles 2 Clear Stamp Set
Simon Says Stamp Dies - Stitched Squares
MFT Die-namics - Stitched Round Rectangle Stax
Taylored Expressions Embossing Folder - Burlap
Natural Burlap from local store-
Elephant Double Sided Adhesive Paper
Memento Ink - Rich Cocoa
Ranger Glossy Accents
Ranger Enamel Accents - Black

Merry Hedgy

Hi there and happy friday,

Today is the start of a new challenge over at Winter Wonderland and this week our theme is Christmas with Ribbon.  Our sponsor this week is Pink Gem Designs and they are offering two free digis to the winner.

For my card today I used  Hedgy with Candy Cane - this guy or girl is super cute and easy and fast to colour in. A fab image for a christmas quick make.  As the theme was ribbon I decided to use a fancier piece from my stash, so out came my ribbed green ribbon! I think it is from Ribbon Girl but I really can't remember - sorry!

Pink Gem Designs Digital Stamp - Hedgy with Candy Cane
Spellbinders Nestabilities - Large Circles
MFT Die-namics - Stitched Circle Stax
Papertrey Ink Impression Plate - Canvas
Neenah Cardstock - Desert Storm
Simple Stories 6x6 Pad - Handmade Holiday
Fundamentals Wood Veneers - Alphabet
Memento Ink -  Rich Cocoa
Christmas Stamp, Ribbon and Red Star Buttons from Stash

Too Cute to Spook

Hi Friends,

It's challenge time over at Whimsie Doodles and this month our theme is Trick or Treat!  Here is my take on it:

Whimsie Doodles Digital Stamp - Little Witch
Lil' Inker Designs - Stitched Rectangles
Core'dinations Textured Cardstock - Midnight
Digitalfield Digital Paper Pack - Halloween 2
Basic Grey Basics Candy Buttons - Black
Ranger Stickles - Yellow

There are lots of fabulous halloween images available in the store but this Little Witch is my favourite. She is definitely too cute to spook! I coloured her in with copics and added some yellow stickles to her moon pendant and star in her hair. I kept the card design simple so she has centre stage. The sentiment was computer generated.

I would like to link this card up with the following challenges:

Pumpkin Time

Hi Friends,

Happy Monday, I hope you had a great weekend.  Today I would like to share my Whimsie Doodles card with you. Melyssa has some super cute Autumn images in the store and I think this one, Lizzie's Pumpkins, is my favourite. I love these pumpkins and her super sweet dungarees.

Whimsie Doodles Digital Stamp - Lizzie's Pumpkins
LOTV Clear Stamp Set - Sentment Tags
Hero Arts Wooden Stamp - Designer Woodgrain
Memory box Die - Cross Stitched Frames
Sweet Shoppe Design Digital Kit - These Days
Sweet Shoppe Design Digital Kit - Autumn Song
Memento Ink - Toffee Crunch
Memento Ink - Rich Cocoa
Naturals Shamrock Hemp Cord - Natural 0.5mm
Wooden Leave and Orange Button from stash

I coloured her with my copics and used a cross-stitch die cut rectangle to frame her.  I found two digital papers in my very, very, large stash that complimented my colouring so decided to them - perfect Autumnal colours - well, I think so!  For the background I used some Memento ink in Dark Cocoa and my Hero Arts Woodgrain stamp. The sentiment tags are from LOTV.

That's it from me. Have a great day and see you again soon.

Forest Friend

Hi Friends,

Just popping in quickly to link up this card with The Card Concept before I go to bed and before the linky closes!!  I promise I will be back in the morning with more info on this card...........OK, I'm back!

It's been a while since I last joined the challenge over at the Card Concept primarily because I never have enough time to craft and it takes me so, so, so long to make a card.  I'm sure the average crafter can make about 5 cards in the time it takes me to make one! Anyway when I saw the challenge was Forest Friends I just had to make time to play along.. I'm a sucker for cute images, especially critters.

Here is my card, which fits perfectly into the clean and layered favourite style :)

Avery Elle Clear Stamps - More Stories
Lawn Fawn Clear Stamps - Joy to the Woods
Avery Elle Dies - More Stories
Lawn Fawn Dies - Joy to the Woods
Mama Elephant Creative Cuts - Basic Set
WPlus9 Designer Dies - Sunshine Layers
MFT Die-namics - Grassy Edges
WRMK Embossing Folder -  Woodgrain
Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Tumbled Glass
Uniball Signo Pigment Pen - White
I decided to ink up my More Stories stamp set from Avery Elle for this card as I really wanted to use the fox and I thought to mushroom and leaves would be perfect for my autumn forest scene!

I began by lightly sponging some Tumbled Glass onto white cardstock. I then stamped all the elements onto copic friendly card, coloured them with my copics and die-cut them out using complementary dies. I then glued to tree to my sponged cardstock before die-cutting a rectangle. I also used the rectangle to die-cut my grassy edges. I glued the mushroom in front of the trees but used foam pads to mount the fox and the grass. I then glued down the falling autumn leaves. I took another piece of white card, used scalloped rectangle die in mama elephant basic set and then embossed it. I foam mounted this onto my card base before finally mounting my forest scene.
I realised once all this was done that I had not included a sentiment, but decided not to add one.

This card was also inspired by Inkspirational Challenges Photo Inspiration

And I would also like to link this card up with:
That's it from me today, enjoy the rest of your day.

PPPIck up a Penguin

Oh my goodness, this post is up soo late.  I got my scheduling a little bit wrong- whoops :(

It's Friday which means it's time for a new challenge over a Winter Wonderland and our theme is, yes you've guessed it - Penguins.  We are sponsored this week by Crafts U Love who are offering the winner a 10 pound voucher.

Now I absolutely love penguin stamps and digis and own alot, so I had a really hard time choosing which one to use for my card this week.  In the end I decided to go with a digi that I have owned for ages but have never used!  Apologies though, this beautiful image is no longer available.  It is a Crissy Armstrong illustration and I bought it through Whimsy Stamps. Unfortunately they no longer sell digital stamps.

I love this image, not only is there a super cute snowman, there are also four fun penguins :)  I decided to keep my card CAS and focus just on the image.  I used copics to colour in the entire scene and then adhered a few snowflakes from crystalline border die cut.  I also used some Copic Paint for snowfall.

Whimsy Stamps, Crissy Armstrong digital stamp - Snowman and penguins - retired
MFT Die-namics - Blueprints 13
Memory Box Dies - Crystalline Border
Copic - Opaque White Paint
Ranger Stickles - Diamonds

Thanks for popping by today, have a great weekend.

Coffee Time

Hi friends,

Yipee I managed to get a card done in time for  Coffee Lovers Fall Bloghop. I just didn't get a chance to make a card for the summer hop and was disappointed I couldn't play along.

Here is my card:
Gerda Steiner Designs Digital Stamp - Mouse with Coffee or Tea Mug
MFT Stamps - Harvest Mouse
MFT Die-namics - Stitched Rounded Rectangle Stx
MFT Die-namics - Blueprints 13
Lil' Inker Designs -  Stitched Mats: Long and Skinny Rectangles
Simon Says Stamp Cardstock - White Woodgrain
Elephant Double Sided Adhesive Paper
Memento Ink - Tuxedo Black
Copic Multi Liner 0.3 - Black
Create a Smile Chipboard - Coffee
Natural Burlap - from stash
Leaf Embellishments - Free Gift from Gerda

I thought this mouse from Gerda Steiner Designs was perfect for the fall theme and what's more he is FREE - thanks Gerda :) I coloured him in with my copics, put a little blob of glossy accents on his nose and cut him out.
For my background panel I randomly stamped some leaves from MFT Harvest Mouse set on a stitched rectangle die-cut and coloured them with copics.  I attached a piece of burlap to some double-sided adhesive paper and used a long rectangle die to create the shape.I adhered this directly onto the panel.  This background panel was mounted onto my card base.
For the main panel I used some woodgrain paper and a stitched rounded rectangle. I glued on a chipboard coffee sentiment and some leaves and then mounted the mouse to the left hand side with some foam tape.  I mounted this panel onto my card. I hope you like it.
