Hello Bluebird - Elephants

Hi Friends,

Happy Thursday - yay, we are getting closer to the weekend and hopefully some extra crafty time :)  Today I am sharing a card that was inspired by two challenges. The Inspired by Challenge where the theme is Elephants (don't you love that graphic!) and The Paper Players Challenge where the theme is rainy days. I had a perfect, as yet unused stamp set from Hello Bluebird that incorporated both these themes - yay!

The stamp set is called Puddle Play and it has the cutest elephants and little ducks dancing, along with umbrellas, a puddle and some water droplets - just perfect.

I began by taking a card front panel and lightly inking it with Tumbled Glass Oxide ink.  I used a raindrop stencil and the tumbled glass once again but applied with a heavier hand.  At the bottom of the panel I stamped the puddle in black ink and then used some copic markers to create the ground. I used a deckle edged die to cut out my front panel.  This was the first time I used these dies and I love the effect it gives!

I stamped all the images for my wee scene with black ink and coloured with my copics.  I tried to keep my colours soft (something I am not very good at and I usually go bold!) to match the softness of the inspiration graphic from Inspired by Challenge.  After colouring, I cut them out with the coordinating dies.  Once I was happy with their placement I adhered them directly to the panel with some liquid glue. The front panel was foam mounted onto a grey card base.

The sentiment is from the same stamp set and was stamped in Extreme Black ink directly onto the panel. I couldn't resist adding some cute little heart embellishments to the umbrellas and some droplets to the sky.
